The History of Winters Heart

Winters Heart started out in 2005 as a small group of players from different guilds who basically raided Blackrock Spire for weeks on and with the greatest enjoyment. The idea of forming a guild together formed shortly afterwards, in hopes of doing ‘bigger’ things, like Onyxia and Molten Core.
Naturally a name had to be chosen. Being a fan of the Wheel of Time series someone called Daishan chose one of the titles of the books; Winters Heart. A charter was signed and that was the beginning of a long story. We expanded quickly, handpicking our new members ourselves. Not too long after that we tried our first Onyxia run, which ended up in disaster and a wipefest. :) But we learned fast and killed her not so long after the first try, followed closely by a Ragnaros kill.

Not long after around the start of October 2005, the guild peace found a sudden end when some players left and founded a new guild, luring a lot of other members over and effectively ripped WH in two. This new guild was called Delirium. In the end we were left with just enough people to start over again but there would not be any other MC clears in a long time. Around january 2006 WH redeemed itself and managed to clear BWL up to Chromaggus, and killed Nefarian eventually in late february.

AQ40 and Naxxramas came along and WH grew to endure with firm feet in the ground, reaching C`thun and Thaddius before the Burning Crusade hit the shelves. We cleared SSC, TK, BMH and BT the old-fashioned way, went halfway through Sunwell Plateau awaiting wotlk to visit old friends in Naxx.  We also had fun in Ulduar hard modes, did all the Onyx Guardian variants, and enjoy Ice Crown Citadel heroic  mode on a typical raiding day.  Ruby Sanctum is also one of our current targets.

From the first day on Winters Heart was meant to be a guild of friends raiding together and up until today, after over 5 years, we still are.
